JOE ATACK
Joe was born and bred in Carleton, a tiny village just outside the small mining town of Pontefract in West Yorkshire. Upon leaving school Joe made the perilous journey into South Yorkshire to attend a course in performing arts at Barnsley College. Whilst at Barnsley College Joe performed at The Lamp Room - Barnsley's principle (only) theatre venue in the play Once a Catholic and performed in a montage of musical hits at the G-Mex in Manchester and the N.E.C.C. in Glasgow.
On completion of his course in Barnsley Joe audition for drama school where upon he gained a place at the Arden School of Theatre. It was at Arden that Joe and Tom met and began their collaboration writing 'The Rise and Fall of Shep' and 'Greyhound goes to Hollywood' a show based on the pair’s journey around the west coast of America.
After four years Joe emerged with a BA Hons degree in Acting Studies and a place with Piccadilly Management Ltd, in Manchester.
Since graduation in July 2004 Joe has worked in Edinburgh and London for the highly acclaimed Artizani Street Theatre Company, played the male lead in the award winning O'Leary's Daughters at the 24/7 Theatre festival, taken the lead role in 'The Reading Glasses' a short film by award winning local film maker Jason Wingard, worked on a short film for the BBC, played various roles in StartWrite at the Contact Theatre in Manchester and played the role of Dr. Spinoza in the show “Cabbages” which will be performed at the Contact Theatre in February 2006.
